Industrial Chemicals
CSBP imports, produces and supplies a range of bulk industrial chemicals to customers across Western Australia, including:
Fluorosilicic acid (also known as Hydrofluorosilicic acid, silicofluoric acid)
Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is primarily used for the fluoridation of potable water. It is a colourless, mildly fuming aqueous solution of hydrogen hexafluorosilicate. CSBP’s fluorosilicic acid concentration is 22 per cent.
Fluorosilicic acid is a co-product of CSBP’s superphosphate manufacturing process.
Industrial urea (also known as Carbamide)
Industrial urea (H2NCONH2) is a white, crystalline, granular solid substance. Industrial urea is used for fertiliser and adhesives manufacture and as a stock feed additive.
Sulphuric acid (also known as dipping acid, oil of vitriol)
Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) is a dense, colourless to light brown, oily corrosive liquid. CSBP’s concentration is 98 per cent.
Recommended uses for sulphuric acid include:
- Explosive manufacture
- Fertiliser manufacture
- Laboratory applications
- Laboratory reagent
- Chemicals manufacture
- Pickling and anodising metals
- Textile chemical
- Water treatment
