The CSBP Coastal Connection Challenge
Run in partnership with Perth NRM, the CCCC aims to empower young people to take action to preserve their local coastal environment.
Fifty students from schools and youth groups in Kwinana and Rockingham attended the inaugural two-day forum in March 2021 to identify opportunities in caring for local coastal areas and develop practical action projects with the support of their peers, scientists, artists, conservationists and educators.
An exciting aspect of the CCCC is that it was developed in consultation with a Youth Reference Group of young people between the age of 14-21, who helped guide the program direction and content and participated in the forum.
The beauty of the Challenge is that the students will work on real-life problems affecting our coastal area and the ideas they come up with may just be part of the solution.
