Ian Hansen, Chief Operating Officer
Ian Hansen was recently made Chief Executive Officer of Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF), after being the Chief Operating Officer of the division since April 2014.
Prior to this, Ian was Managing Director of Wesfarmers’ Chemicals and Fertilisers (CSBP Limited) from October 2007 steering it through its merger with Wesfarmers Energy in July 2010, upon which after which he was appointed CEO Chemicals.
Ian has held executive roles in both the Chemicals and Fertilisers areas of Wesfarmers having responsibility for the activities of the ammonia, ammonium nitrate, sodium cyanide and industrial chemicals businesses, as well as fertiliser sales, distribution, supply chain and manufacturing.
Ian is a director of a number of Wesfarmers Group subsidiaries and joint ventures, and is a board member of Chemistry Australia and the International Fertiliser Association. Ian is also a past president of the Kwinana Industries Council and a former director of the Australian Institute of Management WA.
Liane Unewisse, General Manager Human Resources, Corporate Communications
Li was appointed to her current role in 2016 following her appointment to WesCEF in 2010 as General Manager Health, Safety and Environment. Previous to this, Li held the position of General Manager HR, Safety, Environment and Improvement with CSBP and has been with the Wesfarmers Group since 2005.
Li is a Director of WesCEF, CSBP and QNP (a chemical manufacturing business in Queensland, a joint venture with Incitec Pivot).
Prior to joining WesCEF, Li was responsible for a number of varied roles with Downer Engineering Pty Ltd, including National Safety, Training and Quality Systems Manager, Site Construction Manager, Commissioning Engineer and State Safety and QA Manager.
From 1985-1996 Li was a Naval Officer (Weapons Electrical Engineer) with the Royal Australian Navy in a range of ship or land-based activities including ship construction, maintenance and training.
Li holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of NSW, Diploma in Education from Sydney University and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from Deakin University.
Li is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is an Adjunct Lecturer at Curtin University.
Ross Martelli, General Manager Chemicals
A mechanical engineer with more than 30 years’ experience, Ross was appointed to his current role as General Manager Chemicals in October 2016, after holding the position of General Manager Ammonia / Ammonium Nitrate at CSBP since Ma
y 2014. Prior to this, Ross was the Project Director for CSBP's $550 million Ammonium Nitrate Expansion Project.
Ross began his career at CSBP as a plant engineer in 1982, and since then has held several positions within the business including General Manager Technical Services, General Manager Kwinana Manufacture, Business Manager Ammonium Nitrate and various production management roles.
Ross was also appointed to the CSBP and WesCEF Boards in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
Ross holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technology, a Masters of Business from Curtin University and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
Tanya Rybarczyk, General Manager Fertilisers
Tanya has over 20 years’ experience across a range of industries including retail, chemicals, transport, mining and resources and has a strong background in finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, accounting and investor relations.
Since Tanya joined Wesfarmers in 2001, she has had numerous roles in Wesfarmers Business Development, Gresham Private Equity and Investor Relations & Planning. In 2011 Tanya became Chief Financial Officer at Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers. Tanya moved on to her new role General Manager Fertilisers in 2018.
Prior to Wesfarmers, Tanya worked at EY in Perth and then in Europe with a number of organisations including the Financial Times.
Tanya is a Chartered Accountant and her other qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce; a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
